Step 2: Help me find the best plan

At HealthCompare, you can compare insurance plans based on an assessment of your personal needs, including your budget, and drug coverage, and you can compare plans to your current plan. Click “Help Me Find the Best Plan” in the upper right-hand corner. The system will help you determine the best plan for your needs based on four different criteria of your choosing. Try these tools for your next search:

  1. Needs Assessment: Assisted Choice Profiler (ACP) is an easy-to-use tool that takes you through a series of simple questions to determine your individual needs and preferences. The ACP will then use your answers to find available plans that best suit your needs.
  2. Build Your Plan: If you know what your budget allows or which medications you need covered, the ACP tool can help you build a plan. Provide this information to narrow down your plan results to the ones that match your individual needs.
  3. Current Plan Comparison: Want to see how your current plan compares to other similar Medicare plans? Use this tool to select your current plan and within moments you will be able to search and compare against similar plans available to you.
  4. Are My Drugs Covered?: Search for plans based on the level of coverage they offer for the medications you are currently taking.

Step 3: Compare plans side-by-side

Find a few plans you like? Select up to three plans to add to the Comparison Queue for side-by-side comparisons. Check “compare” in the upper right-hand corner of each plan’s box and click “See Comparison” at the bottom right hand corner to view results.

Step 4: See comparison results

When comparing plans side-by-side, you will see a number of important details, including: Medicare plan ratings, premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket spending limits, prescription drug coverage information, benefit information, inpatient and outpatient care costs, outpatient medical services and supplies costs, preventive services, and additional benefits like vision services.

Tips: Click “plan detail” for further information about each individual plan. To compare different Medicare plans, click “back” and select a new batch. Click “print comparison” for a print-ready file you can download or print from home.

Step 5: Apply now and speak to a licensed agent

When you click “apply now” the screen will prompt you to input contact information. After clicking “continue,” those contact details will be submitted to a licensed Medicare sales agent who will help you continue the enrollment process and answer any questions you may have.

Step 6: Connect with a licensed sales agent

You won’t be enrolled in a Medicare plan until you talk to a licensed agent and complete the required documentation. The online system allows you to research insurance plan options, but knowledgeable, licensed agents are available to answer any questions you may have.

If you need help choosing or enrolling in a plan, a licensed Medicare sales agent is available Monday – Friday 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT.
